The middle schooler asked lawmakers: ‘If a man decides that I’m an object, and does unspeakable, tragic things to me, am I, a child, supposed to carry and birth another child?’

She then urged the legislature to reconsider, saying: ‘Some here say they are pro-life. What about my life? Does my life not matter to you?’

Rita Ray, an 80-year -old woman who had an abortion in 1959, 14 years before terminations were deemed a constitutional right, looked on as Gardner spoke

  1. Honestly this is another fuzzy part of not being able to get rid of an unformed eventually to be human… The idea of a 12 yr old sexually molested, to have to give birth to a baby after the like 7-8 months ? …and that baby killing her, a healthy young 12 yr old THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED by not carrying the baby. The Risk Is Too Much To Think About. 🥺 I wouldn't want a young girl to have to take that risk… I want her to LIVE. This is not their "Plans laid in motion" if a child dies do to giving this birth. Absolutely Not?! I'm sorry, but they should be able to get rid of it.

  2. In a case of grape…I understand.
But just freely getting an abortion just because you enjoy sleeping around? No that’s evil I’m sorry..and it’s like the pro choice people ignore how selfish that is.

  3. Pregnancy is not a physical trauma……. however killing another human being by ripping it apart and living with that guilt for the rest of your life is not only a physical trauma but a mental one as well. My heart goes out to you.

  4. Hummm… interesting, how is this young girl talking about abortion. So there is no alternatives? So there is no trauma and mental implications when having an abortion? 🤦🏻‍♀️ We adults need to be more educated and guide with wisdom these young people. Every life matters!

  5. Typical nonsense arguing that you should be allowed to get abortion because a 12 year old kid could get this happen to her.
How often does an abortion happen because a 12-year-old is in this position versus all other abortions. I don’t think any Reel person is against abortion for what she is saying. But that does not excuse 99.999% of the actual abortions that happen.

  6. May everyone that's against abortion bear witness to their own young daughters pregnancies. Experience the horror of telling your 10 year old daughter they cannot go outside and play because they have to feed, change, and bathe the baby. Go to school with the baby or find daycare, let your young daughters figure out how to get to doctors appointments for vaccinations and check ups while also making sure the 5th grade mother looks into getting a job for insurance. Please, kids can hardly turn in homework at the deadline.

  7. This called the ole foot in the door routine. Give an extreme case and pretend that making it acceptable there now translates across the board. She wants everyone to empathize with her because she is young, which is absolutely true. She's very young so we need to protect her while she is young because she can't protect herself. Her vulnerability makes it crucial that we look out for her. Ok, now go back and read it replacing all the words she/her with "the baby"
