Former US first lady Jill Biden has missed out on a chance to hit the ice in popular HBO Max series Heated Rivalry after being outbid at a charity auction.
Biden offered up $49,000 (AUD) for a walk-on role in the show’s second season, but fell short of the winning bid, which ended up selling to two separate bidders at around $175,000 (AUD) each.

It is not yet known who ultimately secured the top offer.
The bidding took place during a live auction at the NYC LGBT Community Centre’s Centre Dinner, and the prize included a dinner with the cast.
“Guess I won’t be heading to the cottage after all — but it was worth a shot! What a wonderful evening supporting @LGBTCenterNYC,” Biden wrote in a post to X.
Created by Jacob Tierney and based on Rachel Reid’s bestselling Game Changers book series, the queer sports romance has quickly become a breakout streaming success.
The series follows two rival professional ice hockey players navigating a secret long-term relationship while competing on opposing teams.

The show has cut through globally with a 96 per cent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and a spot on multiple streaming charts, including ranking near the top of HBO Max’s most-watched series in both the US and Australia.
Season two, based on Reid’s novel The Long Game, is expected to premiere in April 2027, with filming set to begin later this year.
