The rumours are true — Summer Bay is about to welcome a new arrival, with a fresh doctor set to shake things up.
Australian stage, film and TV actress Nicole da Silva is joining the Home And Away cast as Dr Amelia Carlisle, with filming already underway.
Da Silva is best known for her roles as Stella Dagostino in Rush and Franky Doyle in Wentworth.

A familiar face on Australian screens, she most recently appeared in a stage production of The Lover at Sydney’s Ensemble Theatre.
Speaking in May last year, Da Silva said while she had a “great time” on stage, the pull of television was hard to resist.

“The Home And Away team have been so welcoming,” she said.
“I look forward to audiences meeting Amelia in the coming months.”
Her casting follows months of speculation from fans, who spotted da Silva filming alongside regular cast members back in January.
Now, viewers are eager to see a new doctor arrive in the Bay.
The role comes after the departure of Dr Bree Cameron, played by Juliet Godwin, who exited the show late last year after three years.
In her farewell storyline, Bree left Summer Bay to take up a role with Doctors Without Borders, saying goodbye to Northern Districts Hospital where she had worked since 2022.
Her exit hit hardest for ex-boyfriend Remi Carter, played by Adam Rowland.
In their emotional final scenes, Remi urged Bree not to forget him after everything they had shared — including her escape from an abusive marriage, with Remi’s support playing a key role.
