Google Pixel 6a Review: Not What I Expected!

-

The Pixel 6a’s price makes it very very attractive. Google’s literally giving us the exact same flagship chip you’d find in the more expensive Pixel 6 & 6 Pro. But with that lower price, you know there’s going to be compromises. There always is. This is my review of the Google Pixel 6a.

  1. I've used pixel 2, 3, 4a 5g and 6. I recently returned my pixel 6 after 2 weeks of use. The fingerprint is shit and I do not forgive or give a pass on detail like that. Pixel 3 was the last great pixel phone, after that, the pixels all released with more issues and more patches to fix at launch.

  2. Congrats on the baby and I enjoyed the review! I have the regular Pixel 6 and still watch Pixel reviews to interact with the community. This phone is definitely a keeper and I'm lucky to never have had problems on my 6 like others. I just upgraded to Android 13 and getting less than stellar battery life but it needs to adapt to my usage again. That'll take what? A week or two? Again, great video!

  3. Great Review. You didn't review it based on flagship phones. You understood the audience for this sort of phone and reviewed it accordingly. I can afford flag ship prices but I don't want to spend all that. I love this phone It's not perfect but I find even the more expensive phones aren't perfect either. Well done!

  4. 7:37 — No, Google is not "literally the creators (sic) of Android."

Google bought Android in 2007 or so. But Google certainly has developed it since then.

Otherwise, I enjoyed this review, and it's nice to hear someone congratulate a job well done outside of of Samsung and Apple reviews. Google is still struggling with quality issues, but all manufacturers have significant challenges that stunt their appeal.

It would be nice to see you smooth out your subject/verb disagreements. You're probably a member of Gen Z, though, and we are in 2022, where I normally see mangled grammar and poor writing from all kinds of vaunted, professional media and journalism outlets, so maybe I'm just asking too much.

  5. I hated the pixel 6a but I also hated the 6 pro. Pixel is a huge miss. Battery Life and Screen Brightness seem to be something Google is ignoring. And for that reason, I'm out.

  6. I actually think that the iPhone 11 is a better buy than the pixel 6A. 🤷🏽‍♂️ I don't know… That's just my take on this device though.
Edit: especially when it comes to gaming and videography, nothing beats the iPhone 11 at the 400 dollar price point, especially in terms of software polish and general optimisation. Lol
