Here’s a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction’s latest COVID-19 statistics for Monday, August 29.

NSW: 

Four people have died with COVID-19 and 1,879 people are being treated in hospital for the virus across New South Wales.

The state has recorded 3,394 new cases in the past day — confirmed positives are often lower on Mondays after lower testing rates on weekends.

VIC:

Victoria has also recorded four more COVID-related deaths today, and 2,147 new cases.

There are 343 people hospitalised with the virus around the state, with 22 in intensive care and four people requiring ventilators.
