A woman on an e-scooter has died in a crash with a car in a New South Wales town.
Emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway at Lithgow following reports of a collision at Lee Street on Friday about 5:10pm.
A 32-year-old woman on an electric scooter was struck by a ute.
Members of the public rushed to her aid and helped treat her.
Paramedics arrived and took over but the woman died at the scene.
Police have been told an Isuzu ute was travelling east on the highway before it hit the woman on the e-scooter at the intersection of Lee Street.
The 44-year-old driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
The road was shut down as investigators set up a crime scene.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
