I was at the AB’s Ireland game. The crowd were flat, the team was flat. The game was flat!
Way too harsh on the English performances. Two great games that were very closely contested. A lot more positives than negatives. After listening to this podcast you’d swear England performance was poor?
A NY Yankees cap is midnight blue, not black.
Much better game than SA v Scotland. England should see this as a positive performance.
Does the England set up have the rugby intelligence to discern when to alter tactics? I don’t think so.
England played well against Australia in my view. Marcus Smith needs England to believe in him. He is a Manie Lebok but can kick for poles. Back the guy.
Best rugby podcast. Honest, insightful and unvarnished without bias. Well done lads.
Do we have a coach still in camp that understands the blitz defence??
I'm not English, so I don't feel obliged to crucify the England team when they lose. But if you look at the two games England has played this Autumn series, against Australia and New Zealand, they have been the two most entertaining games of rugby by far this series. England haven't played rugby this entertaining possibly ever. Remember England are still recovering from the Eddie Jones train wreck too. They're playing some great rugby and they're making some mistakes. Still way better than playing shit rugby and losing. Get around your team.
England are just a basic standard that a rugby team need to be at. To be in the top 5, you need to go on and beyond the bog standard; have flair, take opportunities as they happen and take the opposition by surprise (non of which England have and/or do).
Ford is just abyssmal, two games in a row, his decision making / terrible defense have cost his team the win
England can beat anyone in the wet. Pray for a blizzard boys.
I fucking love this show your smashing it keep it up boys 🏴🏴
35 missed tackles points to terrible coaching, Borthwick is like an ostrich burying his head in the sand
I'm used to watching England lose now. It's the norm now. I don't even get disappointed.
Stopped listening to you guys, all England shite. Come on Jim get the Scotland content out ffs
Great video analysis. Just some feedback on the Pacific surnames. It would be nice to try and pronounce these names correctly. It’s not pronounced Sa-i-l-i or has an ongoing stutter. Think of it phonetically – Su-ar-lee-e. Andrew said it well. You’ll no doubt hear his name more often.
I saw a number of players who were so high falooting when they thought they did something worthwhile. Stop playing for the cameras, it will save you a lot of energy. energy..
Enjoying the Borthwick impressions Goodey
England played well. Australia were just that good. Get over it, on to the next.
Thinking that the ex-Boks coaches (now former-England) realized that the fundamentals required for the Blitz defence/attack/conditioning weren't available to them… situational awareness, lack of defense nous at 13, squad depth … and the insane sustained sprint-based conditioning required for the back line.
Wallabies could be a problem if they continue improving over the next few years
Some Borthwick hating going on.
Imagine the stare Jonno would give Earl after he happy clapped a turnover 😅
Angus Bell is not the best loose head,Ox Nche is and has been consistently been so for over a year. You will see on Saturday
Enjoyed the pod. Agree with the concluding remarks about post-match honesty – eg. SB should’ve said he was wrong to change fly-half. That should feedback into the group in a positive way. IMHO Borthwick, in fairness to him, more or less has the players fans clamoured for: Furbank, Smith, Feyi-Waboso, Ben Earl, Freeman, etc. But they are not being well coached. Big loss to the Boks and I think SB’s future is in trouble. The honeymoon was over after the World Cup and walk-through group we had.
Back the pommeys to whinge😂😂
Playing not to lose is the problem. Always has been our problem.
The moment we start to attack we score points and start to win. The moment we kick to defend we lose.
If you stopped the incessant unnecessary swearing I might watch more often and subscribe.
Let's concentrate on things like the Bomb Squad. That is real focus on the fundamental challenges in winning.
Humility is the issue, always respecting your opposition, but give them nothing, and take from them everything
I think Rob Baxter should have gotten the job post-Eddie. The 2 Smiths are the tens that will take represent England at the 2027 RWC, move on from Ford, Dan Cole is another one that needs to be replaced. Both him and Ford have done their job in the white jumper.
Awesome comments guys 🤜 balanced an knowledge ✅ From an ABs fan
England very negative about this game but the game is completely in the bag with 40 seconds to go before Itoje? drops the kickoff cold and lets Australia back in.
Angus Bell better than Ox? What rubbish.
Ox is the best loose prop in the world not Bell
England a bit rusty. Blits defence takes time, and if you get it wrong or just formulaic, you’re done. They have to stick with it. They try to play too much rugby. Need to rather dial it back and play a more boring but winning brand. I think the self congratulations of the team actually motivate their opposition.
A lot of the above is on Borthwhick – he seems to be following a formula rather than creating a system within which the players can operate and respond to the situation naturally. The Smith / Ford substitution was not intuitive game management.
England have to be able to play a kicking game. I think to much emphasis is on your running attack game.
Not sure how Bell is considered the best in the world when Ox Nche is still playing
Scots were down to 14 players after 10 minutes they still stood tall in the rucks
George isn't a captian imo. No cool heads at the end of the 80 mins closing the game out.
We gift points away too easy and it always seems to take a monumental effort to score a try for ourselves.
Bok fan here. If England focuses on the match and stop the plastic celebrations, we are in for a long afternoon. They lost four or five matches by less than seven points. Rugby can be brutal sometimes. But we will disrespect England at our peril.
Borthwick’s coaching decisions are killing England
england may be losing (wots new?), but they look far more dynamic since they spilled farrell.
