Not sure why the debate over Kelpie vs. Border Collie and which breed is superior. Both are unreal. Collies are supposedly smarter (measured how?) and also a bit quicker and more agile. However a Kelpie has way more stamina and endurance and will still be trotting along way after a BC has gone looking for a drink and a shady spot to rest.

Love how he stays well back and applies just enough pressure to get the job done.

Wait. But aren't protection/police dogs regularly sold in the 30-60k range?

He is not a cattle dog – Hoover is a kelpie. The Australian cattle dog is an entirely different breed.

I recently saw a retired Kelpie and it’s Owen would take a motor bike around the property each day the funny thing about it was the kelpie wasn’t the one chasing the motorbike.

He deserves so many belly rubs and treats after all that hard work 😊❤

They're very friendly happy dogs too. One can't help but be happy when a kelpie is around

We do kelpie rescue here on the west coast in the US. These dogs are probably the smartest breed on the planet.

I doono if anyone is aware, this dog passed away not long after he went to his new home, as far as I know an electric fence was responsible

World's most expensive working dog? Clearly you've never heard how much your average guide dog or assistance dog is worth ( which thankfully are usually given to their disabled recipient for little to no money). Most are worth about $30-60,000

Y’all realize the Australian Kelpie (in pinned comment) and Australian Cattle Dog (in post) are totally different breeds and have radically different styles of managing and moving stock….surely!?!
