US sanctions Russia on election influence | Gaza polio drive | US school shooting in Georgia

The United States has accused Russia of trying to influence November’s presidential election by stirring up political divisions in the country.

The Justice Department has charged two employees of the state media network RT alleging they were behind a scheme that paid $10 million to an American company to produce online videos designed to sway public opinion.

The DoJ also seized 32 Internet domains that it says were used to spread propaganda. The websites were made to look like legitimate U-S news outlets.

The World Health Organisation is moving to the next phase of its polio vaccination drive in Gaza describing the campaign as a ‘rare bright spot’ in months of war.
