At least 68 people were injured, mostly while trying to flee homes. Footage released by Turkish private broadcaster TGRT shows how night-time anchorman Ersel Hoskara coninued presenting as the quake was felt in Istanbul while the graphic underneath him read ‘Breaking news: moment of the earthquake live on air’. The earthquake was centered in the town of Golkaya, in Duzce province, some 200 kilometers (125 miles) east of Istanbul, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency said.

  2. I was asleep when the earthquake hit, my brother thought he was going to die and was praying. I was calmer. I knew it was an earthquake but I was surprised because there is no fault line in my city. We went outside. It was very cold outside. After waiting for a while, we went inside. There was a big earthquake again and my brother fell to the ground while running. The earthquake was almost over but my brother still could not get up. I forget earthquake , I just laught him 😂
He is 19 years old btw

  3. For people wondering, this was not the Turkish-Syrian earthquake of february 2023 but instead a much smaller one, as one of many people who felt this earthquake it wasn't really strong. There were 0 casualties 68 wounded 1 being bad (they jumped down their window out of panic). The february 2023 earthquake was much more devastating.

  4. When this was happening my dad came to my room and said İ think theres an earthquake İ just slightly raised my head and said no not at all why and just go back to sleep
