The Guardian used the flooding disaster for ‘partisan point scoring’

The Guardian opportunistically seized on the flooding disaster for “partisan point-scoring” against News Corp, according to Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton.

The outlet published an article criticising the closure of regional newspapers in flood-hit towns, which prompted backlash from News Corp working for local papers in flooded communities.

“In short, these journalists are on the ground and doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing and then some,” Mr Houghton said.

“The restructure of News Corp regional newspaper hasn’t changed that – in fact, the organisation as a whole – including this station – is responding appropriately in covering the floods.”

  1. Cartel, liberals and labor states , cartel run councils , all give permission and take big chunks of cash to let people build ,buy and sell develop land that has flooded in history, even if its a one in one hundred year flood that happens every 20 years ,, any land search would have told the buyer the land they want floods ,, and then you have a bank lending money to people to finance the same land , same with insurance ,,
When you here them say I have river views ,don't be shocked !

  2. Who the heck cares what the Guardian says. They, like the Washington Post, the Economist, New York Times, and (fill in the blank), are all leftist trash posturing only for "partisan point scoring".

  3. Story tellers whinging about story tellers. Wouldn't happen once upon a time . . . not enough players in the game. Buggerall bridges to burn. Disappointed! Wanted to hear James pronounce Warargummber Dam again.

  4. So, were those newspapers closed down or not? Our local paper no longer exists, nor do most of the regional newspap ers closed by News Corp. A skeleton staff of journalists still. It would nice if your guests actually knew the numbers on that, compared to prior to the News Corp. slaughter.

  5. And what, Sky News isn’t “partisan”?

Sky News is now, unashamedly, the propaganda wing of the Liberal party. Why is that so? Because the Liberal party is very willing to bend over for Uncle Rupert…there is pay-off for Rupert supporting the Liberal Party.

Of course Sky News would be triggered by the report from The Guardian….Ruperts other enemy beside the ABC.
