Security leaders warn climate change the biggest threat facing Australia

The Australian Security Leaders Climate Group is calling for an overhaul of the way the federal government plans for climate threats, as Sydney hosts the world’s first Global Nature Positive summit that aims to improve ecosystems and strategies for restoration.

The federal govermment is co-hosting this Global Nature Positive Summit reiterating its commitment to zero new extinctions of native animals and plants and protecting and conserving 30% of Australia’s land mass. But a new poll found majority of Australians believe the government isn’t doing enough.

“The future risk keep increasing exponetitally so we have to be bold and start taking action now” said Australian Defence Force chief Chris Barrie.
