Residents and visitors in NSW town of Rosedale seek refuge from bushfires on the beach

Madeleine Kelly, 17, and her family were among people staying in Rosedale, a tiny coastal town 300km south of Sydney, when they were forced to flee to the beach ahead of huge bushfires on New Year’s Eve. The fires destroyed numerous properties in the town as horrified onlookers watched. The fire’s onslaught was halted when the wind changed, but people remained on the beach for hours afterwards before they could be evacuated to Moruya showgrounds by bus through the devastated town.

  1. Scott morrison should be held accountable along with a majority of politicians.. If this was my house or a family member died because of the fire. I would definitely make sure that some of the governments wouldnt see night or day.

  3. From Brazil I happened to see these facts beyond the limits of news report. I have seen more videos about it than Australians themselves. It was simply apocalyptical…! It has converted me. I entered my house here today feeling the smell of a psychological smoke. I have decided to try hard to make peace with some people. When I went to church, I had another consciousness. It is unmeasurably dammaging… Vineyards, animals, livestock, houses, lives, so many things lost that cannot be counted and evaluated… This is the beginning of the Apocalypse!
