NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian says the state is facing the greatest threat since the beginning of the pandemic after announcing stricter lockdown measures following 44 new Covid-19 cases. Berejiklian again said the low vaccination rates in NSW were a significant concern. “We cannot live with this variant,” she said. “No place on earth has unless they have their vaccination rates much, much higher than what we do. Because otherwise it subjects the population to thousands and thousands of hospitalisations, thousands of deaths.”
