Norway’s Muslim immigrants attend classes on western attitudes to women

Every immigrant in Norway must attend classes on female rights and respect for women. The lessons were made compulsory after a string of sex attacks by immigrants in the western city of Stavanger.

With exclusive access to a class in action in the town of Moi, 65 miles south-east of Stavanger, Jenny Kleeman meets the students and asks whether western values can really be taught in a classroom.

  1. I apologize if this comes across as rude, but that doesn't seem to be the attitude of those seeking asylum. They don't even show a shred of gratitude towards Norway, yet they have the audacity to say that Norwegians should take the time to understand their culture, when it should be the other way around.>

  2. They’re both right. On the one hand, Syrians don’t need to be /act Norwegian but on the other hand some wo/men will act out against their host who is not behaving like people they are used to in their former community.

  3. Wow larger difference in values for some & for others similar, less clash then

Aww help wife around the house

Oh, maybe after Norway culture class, later can present own culture to teachers as exchange

  4. Emotional intelligence seems to be something that not even western countries have in spades. I swear no wonder the world is getting worse. So easy to manipulate peoples emotions.

  5. the nerve of that guy saying norway's culture is wrong and their culture is wrong and Norway needs to understand and they need time! F that, you come to my country you either adapt, go back to where you came from or a country with the same culture.

  6. If you go to someones home you respect their rules or do not enter. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

I must say I love this whole concept of the classes and way this country has approached the asylum seekers. I wish Canada would take this approach. People need to be made to take classes to learn and adapt into the society they want to live in.

  7. They will never change their ways, they don't respect. Their plan is to live in as many countries as possible, to grow their population, to infiltrate, dominate and join their populations around the world as one, to destroy other religions, they are obsessed with this ideal/plan !!!

  8. Most of this comment section are the same types who advocate this type of immigration. They are dumbstruck as they stare out of their cognitive dissonance at low resolution and suspect something else is to blame. Oh well, better make female affirming comments so everyone knows I'm a member.

  9. In every culture and every country, you have people who are more emotionally intelligent and respect others and the ones that dont. I get making everyone take the class, but for those who already "get it" like the couple from Syria, backing up the teacher and encouraging their male classmates to change their perspective would be really helpful. Maybe dont look at it as a punishment but an opportunity.
