They’re both right. On the one hand, Syrians don’t need to be /act Norwegian but on the other hand some wo/men will act out against their host who is not behaving like people they are used to in their former community.

I must say I love this whole concept of the classes and way this country has approached the asylum seekers. I wish Canada would take this approach. People need to be made to take classes to learn and adapt into the society they want to live in.

In every culture and every country, you have people who are more emotionally intelligent and respect others and the ones that dont. I get making everyone take the class, but for those who already "get it" like the couple from Syria, backing up the teacher and encouraging their male classmates to change their perspective would be really helpful. Maybe dont look at it as a punishment but an opportunity.

These type of assimilation classes should be required in all western countries. And if anyone doesn’t adapt they need deported.

I think those classes should happen before immigration.

When you leave your country and want to live in another it is your job to adapt. You are the one asking for the favor or stay in a country that shares your culture.
