Moment pool collapses as Acapulco hit by landslides and floods in wake of Hurricane John

Footage appears to show a pool area collapsing from a house in Acapulco after Hurricane John pummelled Mexico’s southern Pacific coast, blowing tin roofs off houses, triggering mudslides and toppling scores of trees.

The weather event had weakened back to tropical storm status early on 24 September. The remnants of the hurricane brought intense rains across several states, home to major ports and beach resorts. The storm moved back into the Pacific on 25 September and is forecast to become a hurricane again
