Lebanon War Archive: Australians evacuated by sea after Israeli forces bomb Beirut airport

In 2006, the airport was rendered unuseable after Israeli forces bombed it. Australians were forced to evacuate by sea, a process which took much longer.

Eighteen years later, the Australian government is urging those in Lebanon to leave immediately on any available commercial flight, after the deadly attack in the occupied Golan Heights over the weekend.
