Jonathon Duniam disapproves Lidia Thorpe’s parliament outburst

Shadow Environment Minister Jonathon Duniam has urged there was “a lot wrong” with Lidia Thorpe’s actions.

Senator Thorpe was removed from Parliament House on Monday after her outburst in front of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

“We still need to consider what we do in response to that,” Mr Duniam told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“There’s a lot wrong with what Lidia Thorpe did”.

  1. I doubt anything will be done over Thorpe for she's immune to any action against her. Yet if that had been an ordinary member of the public who had yelled at the head of state they'd have been arrested and thrown in gaol without any charges especially so if they were a male. But Thorpe identifies as an Abbo and is a woman so she can get away with anything. Our political system is an absolute joke and no wonder they make showing up to vote compulsory. With the self promoting A holes in the parliament no one in their right mind would vote for any of them.

  2. She needs to repay every cent of her salary since she swore an incorrect oath, because she isn’t a lawful Senator….she has intentionally defrauded the people of Australia by not swearing the correct oath that is set out under the Constitution (the highest law of the land)….it seems Greens, Thorpe and Labor, only acknowledge the Constitution when it suits, and try and find loopholes to circumvent it at every opportunity. We really need this tightened up so that when a referendum is held every aspect of what is proposed is published as part of the referendum and the results of a referendum is to be binding on the states regardless of whether they try and pre-empt a negative outcome by starting processes like what is going on with ‘treaties’ and state voices to parliament

  3. Thorpe isn't a politician, she's an activist. I expect many people in the Commonwealth share her point of view regarding the Monarchy but she seems more intent on building her own cult of personality than doing anything that will bring about material change.

  4. Feeling her frustration, huge empathy for her and her indigenous brothers and sisters….Take the opportunity, any opportunity, but make sure it gets to the right ears…King Charles has a certain power, but he's got no clout here .
And to those criticisms, let her speak, and then perhaps focus on fixing the issues at hand!

  5. I bet nothing will be done about Lydia Thorpe if this will be end result people of AUSTRALIA should demand that senate be sacked we are paying these politicians their wages and what do we get rubbish. If we do nothing we deserve this type of politician and the rest of the parasites in Canberra
