Russian forces lost a vast numbers of tanks during the first few months of the war, prompting questions over whether they were becoming obsolete.

But the tank has previously appeared to have been consigned to the ash heap of history only to rise again to reaffirm its relevance. Josh Toussaint-Strauss examines Russia’s early deployment during the invasion and asks: if tanks aren’t the problem, why did they fail in Ukraine?

  1. How do you know that the Russian strategy has failed? Maybe not the most efficient strategy but failed? But what if you don't care about human life? If the West doesn't want it anymore, Ukraine will be finished and that's what it looks like at the moment.

  2. No the reason 2014 worked was Ukraine military was even worse then Russia, then after being trained by nato second time around Ukraine knew how to battle well Russia just thought they could walk in and take it again

  3. Russia has for along time used their "Military Power" as a push to intimidate their neighborhoods. Up keep and maintenance has killed Russian military strategy and poor design. The tank will always have a clear need and use in future actions.

  4. Stop making faked news and photographs. Do not play on the minds of the viewers , you have become a lie machine even to your citizens. No body believe you from the rest of the world.

  5. I love how people blamed it on the tank. Their tanks could be a serious threat if they use it the way they designed it. Low profile, small, huge gun… This tank is designed for long range support and ambush. But russian army literally roll em around in the open 1 by 1, in a line… IN A LINE! What war is this? Second world war LoL

  6. Didn't those effective portable anti-tank weapons like the Panzerfaust knock out a considerable number of tanks during WW2? Still, post-war development of tank wasn't put a halt to and tanks hadn't retired either.
