At a rally in Detroit, Republican candidate Donald Trump claimed that Kamala Harris would impose an electric vehicle ‘mandate’.

Harris, during a duelling rally in Oakland County, addressed the claim, saying ‘contrary to what my opponent is suggesting, I will never tell you what kind of car you have to drive’. Harris then went on to say she would invest in American manufacturing and industry such as steel, iron and the auto industry
