Chris Hoy praised for positivity in face of cancer diagnosis

After being told he only has ‘two to four years to live’, there has been wide-spread warmth and admiration for the way that Sir Chris Hoy has dealt with his diagnosis which was revealed publicly in an interview with the Sunday Times.

The UK health secretary, Wes Streeting, said he was ‘in awe’ of the six-time Olympic gold medallist, who appeared upbeat as he presented the Track Cycling World Championships only a few hours after the news broke. Hoy also took to Instagram to send a message of positivity to fans.
