‘As bad as it gets’: bushfires in Australia create catastrophic conditions

Catastrophic conditions have been declared as bushfires sweep across parts of New South Wales and South Australia.  The death toll and number of injured firefighters has risen as a severe heatwave continues. Two people were confirmed dead in South Australia on Saturday, homes were destroyed and communities evacuated as the prime minister, Scott Morrison, was due to return to Australia after cutting short a family holiday to Hawaii

  1. My prediction is that we will start to see Australia empty going forward as people take their kids away from the heat and smoke. Tourists will quickly spread the word and tourism will be brought to its knees. So no amount of New Year firework displays will ever help save what is now becoming a basket case! THERE IS NO HOPE FOR OZ I'm so sorry you have been let down. RIP Australia! Alan Jones 31 December 2019.

  2. Guy at the start is so deep "they say that they're okay but deep down I can tell that they're not" ahahah nah seriously though this is shocking Australia and will be talked about when my kids are parents …. its horrible and is only getting worse and not enough of us in australia care because it's not our homes or our brother falling…. we all need to do our part when this is finally over and all donate $50 just a small measly $50 from ALL OF US would drastically make a difference

  3. NGOs have been spraying aluminium oxide for years in austrailia as part
of the geo engineering program, aluminium oxide is a flame excellerant.
same as in california, some say its part of the UNs agenda 21.

  6. If the people joined together and held prayers instead of singing Carols by candlelight on Christmas eve, the rains might come and the drought might end.
But paganism and hypocrisies have no borders… Every new year at the stroke of midnight starts off with fireworks in every city around the world, then they spend the rest of the year blaming the coal for emissions and climate change.
Do Greta Thunberg, and her young followers "who are still young enough believing that Santa Clause is real, have any idea how much emissions all of those fireworks create?..I guess they don't… That's what happens when they keep skipping school, encouraged by their low IQ teachers.

  7. Idk why the rain is more rare than before,i remember only a few years back,it rained everywhere like crazy,it seems we humans have screwed up something in the atmosphere … Start doing something governments, for real, bad result in our future is not the only option !

  8. I do not wish harm on anyone but we should remember that there is something called the creator who is more powerful than all humans. There would never be justice in a stolen land. Australia might look nice to us but it is tainted by the blood of the original people. The laws of nature has spoken. We should show remorse and appease the creator first and show remorse for what you have done to the original people because the creator has come for his vengeance and there is nothing you and I can do about it. Fasten your seatbelts people we are in for a ride. BTW is am white.

  9. The teens in Australia, who created a meme of their prime minister with his head buried in the sand as he defends the coal based economy, have the right idea. The same goes for the oil producing countries like Canada, Russia, the USA and the mid east too, lots of heads in the sand there too. As Albert Einstein famously said:
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"
What I find especially horrifying is that the Australian, Saudi, USA and Brazilian governments have succeeded in blocking progress on climate action world wide, by their self serving blocking of a new agreement in Madrid. Our children and grandchildren will never forgive us if we fail to act. The carbon emissions graph is still heading steadily upwards and the climate impacts will only get bigger and spread more widely as we wait like Nero did in Rome, playing his fiddle as the fires erupted around him and destroyed the city. The combination of droughts in summer and heavier than than usual rain and flooding in other places in the fall/winter is not a coincidence. Climate change means massive alterations of weather pattens that have allowed humans to flourish over the last ten thousand years since human settlements started. The loss of the snow pack at high elevations in the Himalayas will have devastating impacts in India too.

  10. Why comments are bagging Trump.
We dont care about America or politics at this point in time.
How that is relevant to Australian fires.
Lets see how many hundreds of millions in donations Australia receives from other countries to repay the favour for the hundreds of millions we send to every disaster.
I lost everything in a major flood three years ago.
    No assistance, no financial support.
No concerned government employee called me to see how I am doing. But life goes on. Time to think about those effected by these devastating events.
    Fellow Australians, stay safe.

  11. 100% ,,,,,100% ….they can create rain ,and push it away ,,,,they knew a big storm coming at China Olympics an used weather weapon to deflect ,,a man with an invention as small as a telescope can be pointed at the sky and create rain ,,100% ,,,feel bad for you aussies

  12. ok you know what? i dont want to wait to the government !
i need 10 comments that want me to start and i start the process to make rain fall!
