Three people hospitalised after house fire in Sydney’s inner west


Three people have been injured in a house fire in Sydney.

Firefighters were called to a home on St John’s Road in Glebe about 4.30pm to reports of smoke rising from a home.

Video seen by 9News showed a woman attempting to escape the house through a window as flames poured out of the home’s front door.

Outside the house, a small group of people could be seen attempting to help the residents.

“Give me a hand,” a man could be heard shouting as he sprayed water on the house with a hose.

A small crowd of bystanders gathered outside as firefighters arrived.

The fire was extinguished, and firefighters helped the woman evacuate the house.

Firefighters are investigating the cause of the blaze.

Three people were taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation and possible burns.

A 48-year-old woman is believed to have suffered some superficial burns and burns to her airways.
