A kebab food truck with branding of popular social media star Spanian has been damaged during a suspicious fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The vehicle was stationed at a car park on Bell St in Preston, north of Melbourne CBD, overnight when the vandalism took place.
Fire crews arrived after 3.45am and worked to extinguish the blaze.
“Firefighters were able to get the incident under control very quickly and used thermal imaging technology to ensure all hotspots were fully extinguished before leaving the scene,” a Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson said.
Police have also been made aware of the attack due to its suspicious circumstances.
On Saturday, the YouTube star based in Sydney took to social media to speak on the attack and the damage it can do to community members who own the kebab trucks.
“The owners of the trucks are people from your community,” he said in a video on Instagram.
“The trucks are part of their community and those people from your community save up for these trucks, and they have to pay for it.”
He added the Melbourne truck is expected to be back open for business by Saturday night with new trucks on the way.
