Sydney’s underworld war has exploded again with masked gunmen opening fire on a man and woman sitting in a car outside a Greystanes home in a brazen daylight attack.
The man in the car — Ratu Vesikula — emerged from the shooting unscathed but spoke about the terrifying ambush that left the windows on the Suzuki Swift shattered.
“Why would anyone want to shoot at the car you’re in?” he was asked at the scene.

“No idea, bro. No idea, no idea,” Vesikula replied.
When asked if the experience was terrifying, he responded: “Oh, yeah, no. It was alright.”
When asked if the incident had scared him, Vesikula responded with: “Nah … sh** shooters.”
Vesikula was inside the Suzuki Swift with a woman when at least two gunmen wearing masks opened fire before fleeing the scene.
“We believe at least two were involved and at this point the only description we have is they’re wearing balaclavas,” police said.
“It’s very lucky people weren’t killed.”

The gunmen sped to nearby Toongabbie, where they ditched the BMW they used for the shooting at a unit block and set it on fire.
“There was a loud bang. I actually thought someone was shot. That’s how bad it was,” one witness said.
“Big smoke, you know, black cloud,” another added.
Police are investigating if the shooting has any alleged links to organised crime.
“It’s a very brazen attack,” police said.
The shooting is yet another investigation added to Strike Force Falcon’s extensive file on Sydney’s violent gang war.
