An overstuffed car boot has led South Australia police officers to a rather unexpected find in the state’s southeast.
Police spotted the car driving with the boot open on the Princes Hwy at Meningie about 1.30am on Saturday.
When officers stopped the car, they allege a man got out and tried to close to boot but it popped open again as police approached, revealing a large quantity of cannabis partially concealed by a fitted bedsheet.

The driver and passenger, a 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from Murray Bridge, have since been charged with trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
They were bailed to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on June 2.
The cannabis was seized, along with pairs of secateurs.
Investigations are continuing.
