A man has been charged after a horror road rage incident where a machete was produced and allegedly used to smash a driver’s window.
The incident occurred on Thursday about 5.10pm when a man allegedly left his vehicle as it was stopped in traffic on Glossop Street in St Marys, in western Sydney.
The man approached another vehicle which was also stopped in traffic, and allegedly smashed the drivers side window with a machete.
Vision shared by Nine captured the horror incident, where the machete-wielding man, dressed in a hi-vis uniform, smashed the window.
The 46-year-old man who was behind the wheel was left uninjured.
Both men drove from the scene and are not known to one another.
Witnesses assisted police as they reported the incident to officers, sparking an investigation.
Inquiries led to the arrest of a 47-year-old man at a home in Idriess Crescent, Blackett at about 3.30pm on Friday.
He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station and charged with destroy or damage property, use knife in public place-cause person to fear for safety, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm and armed with intent commit indictable offence.
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
