Rapper Kid Cudi has taken the stand in the federal criminal trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, corroborating violent allegations made by Combs’ former partner Cassie Ventura.
Cudi — real name Scott Mescudi — is the highest-profile figure to testify so far. In a New York courtroom today, he described a 2011 incident in which Combs allegedly broke into his Los Angeles home after learning about Cudi’s relationship with Ventura.

“He said, ‘What’s up?’” Mescudi recalled, according to NBC News.
“And I said, ‘Motherf–ker, are you in my house?’ He said, ‘I am here waiting for you.’”
Mescudi said that when he returned home, police were at the scene. He claimed his security cameras had been tampered with, his dog was found locked in the bathroom, and several gifts were unwrapped and left on his kitchen counter.
At the time, Mescudi believed Ventura was single. He told the court Ventura had confided that Combs had “hit and kicked her” and that she was “scared of him finding out we had been hanging out.”
“I wanted to confront him. I wanted to fight him,” Mescudi said, avoiding eye contact with Combs during his testimony.
Mescudi also detailed a separate incident in which a Molotov cocktail (also called a petrol bomb) was thrown into his Porsche, destroying the vehicle. He claimed Combs later denied involvement — a denial Mescudi rejected.
“He’s lying,” he said.
Mescudi told the court he had later met with Combs at Soho House in Los Angeles.
“Sean Combs was standing straight looking out of the window with his hands behind his back like a Marvel supervillain,” Mescudi said.
He also revealed that Combs later apologised to him and that he felt “played” by Ventura.
“Both you guys were played, true?” Combs’ lawyer Brian Steele asked.
“Yes,” Mescudi replied.
Private jet incident, disturbing hotel claims
Other testimonies heard on Wednesday included that of Combs’ former assistant, who detailed an alleged incident in which Combs threw apples at another girlfriend, known as Gina.
Hotel staff also described the extreme clean-up required after Combs’ stays, citing “excessive amounts of oil” and candle wax.

Later, Mescudi took to social media to thank fans for their support.
“Hey guys, I just wanna say I’ve been seeing all the love and support,” he said in a video shared to X (formerly Twitter) on May 22.
“I just wanna say thank you so much, man. People have been hitting me up the past week, just checking in—even today. This is a stressful situation. I’m glad it’s behind me.”
Combs faces five charges
Combs is facing five criminal charges: two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution; and one count of racketeering conspiracy.
He has denied all allegations.
