‘I’m back’: Former SBS World News host Lee Lin Chin shares stunning throwback after Instagram account reinstated

Aussie TV star Lee Lin Chin has returned to social media and shared a stunning throwback photo after allegedly having her account disabled over a year ago.

While the retired journalist once kept an active social media presence, Chin’s Instagram account sat inactive for over a year until she made a sudden return over the Easter weekend.

The post included a black and white photo of Chin taken early in her broadcasting career while working in radio.

“I’m back from being locked out of this account for over 12 months,” Chin wrote on Sunday alongside the photo.

“The reason I was blocked?

“I can’t say for sure, but my last published posts give me quite the inclination.

“I’ll have more to say shortly, but for now, as always, free, free Palestine!”

Chin’s last post prior to her alleged account suspension was a short video showing a bird pecking at an Israeli flag, which was posted in November 2023.

The video was shared less than two months after a Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7 left over 1,139 people dead and 200 hostages taken captive.

“Even the birds in front of my penthouse apartment have had enough of this rubbish. Free Palestine,” she wrote.

Chin, 72, was a longtime host on SBS World News after first joining the broadcaster in the 1980s.

She ultimately resigned from her plum gig helming SBS World News Weekend in 2018, reportedly due to longstanding issues about management at the broadcaster.

“Working two days a week didn’t give me enough time to devote to the pub and re-reading the complete works of Shakespeare,” she announced in July 2018.

“So now that I work zero days that issue has been addressed.”
