Three men and a woman have been charged with murder after a 43-year-old man was stabbed to death at a park on the NSW South Coast.
Strike force detectives established a crime scene and began an investigation after the man was found on East Street in Bega about 2am on October 6.
A second man, a 45-year-old, had also been stabbed but recovered at South East Regional Hospital.
Yesterday morning, officers stormed three homes in Bega and Bemboka and arrested three men, aged 29, 32 and 34, and a 19-year-old woman.
All four were taken to Bega police station.
The men were all charged yesterday afternoon but the woman wasn’t charged until later in the night, after she’d received treatment in hospital for what police called an unrelated matter.
The arrests came just days after a public tip-off led detectives and divers to search a private property and the Glebe Wetlands on East Street.
They uncovered items of interest in the property, which were being forensically examined.
A knife, electronic devices, and two vehicles were previously found and seized.
Strike force detectives, with the help of NSW SES, have been focusing their efforts on the Glebe Wetlands.
All four accused are expected to face Bail Division Court 3 on charges of murder and causing wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
The woman and the 32-year-old man were also charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm.
Investigations are continuing.
