Flood victim remembered as a hero; Two dead, two missing in floodwaters; Up to 300mm of rain expected in next 24 hours

We’ll end our live coverage of the NSW floods here with a final update:

The SES has 149 active warnings in place, as intensive rainfall continues.

There have been 600 flood rescues, and more than 4600 calls for help.

Rescues are continuing in Glenthorn.

Major flooding is occurring on the Manning, Paterson, Hastings, Williams, Nambucca and Macleay Rivers.

Rivers are likely to continue rising this weekend, with predicted rain to exceed 150-200mm in the next 24 hours.

“Although rainfall may be reprieving in some areas, we haven’t seen the end of renewed river rises in northern NSW and people should not become complacent,” SES assistant commissioner Dean Storey said.
