A worker has died at a wind farm construction site at Rokewood, west of Geelong in Victoria.
Police say the man was crushed beneath a fan blade at a property on Bells Road.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 8am on Monday.
First responders tried to revive the man, but he was declared dead at the scene.
Vision seen by the ABC shows two fan blades resting on metal scaffolding.
A third blade is lying on the ground beside pieces of scaffolding that are tipped on their side.
Workers gathered in a nearby paddock.
The property is part of the Golden Plains Wind Farm Project, where an energy facility is being built including wind turbines and associated electrical infrastructure.
The company’s website said it would become Australia’s largest wind farm.
“The site has been closed and we are working closely with emergency services and the authorities,” the company said in a statement after the incident.
Victoria Police have attended, while WorkSafe said it was investigating.
