A Tasmania Supreme Court judge has been convicted and sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order with 100 hours of community work after being found guilty of assault and emotional abuse or intimidation.
Justice Gregory Geason, 63, was sentenced by presiding Victorian magistrate Susan Wakeling in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
As part of the community corrections order, Magistrate Wakeling ordered he must also continue to undergo psychological or psychiatric treatment, including to gain insight into his offending behaviour.
She earlier found him guilty of one count each of assault and emotional abuse or intimidation of a woman.
