Burleigh Beach is a place popular for morning strolls, sunrise yoga and a dip in the ocean before the hoards of people arrive.
The locals love the Gold Coast hotspot but now council has increased the price of parking and extended the metered time.
Residents will have to pay for a ticket from 7am to 7pm instead of 9am to 5pm.

Council has also updated its price from $5.80 to $8.70 a day.
Local MP Hermann Vorster believes council is taking them for a ride .
“They’re using Burleigh as an ATM machine,” Vorster said.
