Residents in Julimar, Moondyne and Chittering, about an hour outside of Perth, are being told to leave now as a bushfire threatens homes in the area.
“A Bushfire Emergency Warning is in place for people in an area bounded by Julimar Road, Plunkett Road, Beach Road and Jenjoda Road,” the emergency warning read.
Other parts of Chittering and Moondyne are currently under a Watch and Act warning, having been downgraded from an emergency after favourable conditions emerged overnight.
It comes as other fires are burning within Perth’s CBD, though it is believed there are no current threats to homes.
A bushfire was contained yesterday just six kilometres north of the CBD at Herdsman Lake, whilst a Watch and Act warning is still in place for Osborne Park in the city’s north-west.
There is a threat of thunderstorms with high winds, potentially exacerbating fires already burning.
A total fire ban has been declared for large parts of the state just outside of Perth.
Temperatures could soar towards 40 degrees today, with the hot weather lasting until the end of next week.
Temperatures in Melbourne could reach 34 degrees on Wednesday and 37 degrees on Thursday, whilst Weatherzone predicts six straight days of temperatures of 30 degrees and above for Adelaide.
The hottest day will also be Thursday, with a top of 38 degrees expected for the city of churches.
