Becoming an instant millionaire could come down to your location rather than luck, with this year’s Lotto hotspots revealing which suburbs have claimed the most Division 1 winning entries.
Several postcodes across the country have pocketed a piece of this year’s combined $1.5 billion jackpot, but some have pocketed more than others.
The hotspots include major city centres like Brisbane’s CBD and Sydney’s CBD, but also far-flung regional areas such as Alice Springs and Mowbray in Tasmania.

Speaking on Sunrise, Matt Hart from The Lott said many winners actively hunt for outlets that have sold recent Division 1 wins, while others seek “greener pastures” believing lottery lightning won’t strike twice.
Victoria has been crowned the Division 1 capital of Australia, recording the most wins with 142 worth more than $280 million.
However, NSW claimed the biggest prize pool despite fewer wins, with 111 Division 1 victories generating more than $480 million, boosted by two $100 million prizes landing in the state.

Hart said the range of winner reactions has been “a real mix, a bit of rollercoaster for emotions”.
“Some people tell us they love me, they want to marry me, but that never happened obviously,” he said.
Among the standout stories was a man from Bundaberg who won twice, claiming Set for Life this year after winning Division 1 and a million dollars just a couple of years ago.
“You’re never quite sure if you’re going to get hung up on or someone’s going to scream down the phone or just stunned silence,” Hart said.
