The Melrose Place actor’s sudden death came two days after he took to Instagram to tell fans he had landed a role producing the new movie Kockroach, starring Chris Hemsworth, which was set to be filmed in Australia.
News of Muldoon’s passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and former co‑stars, including close friend and his Starship Troopers co-star Denise Richards.

Richards said she was “deeply heartbroken and devastated”, describing Muldoon as her “best friend” and “family”.
“You lit up every room you walked in to … so talented and most underrated,” she wrote.
“Your laugh, your kindness, your wit, your strength, your loyalty, your passion, and your zest for life … I don’t know what I’m going to do without you here.
“Our memories together are endless. You’ve had my back and protected me more than anyone.”
She said the pair had been each other’s “rock” throughout their adult lives.
“You’re my voice of reason and pillar of strength … I love you so much and miss you dearly.”
