Most times power outages means you have no electrical lines to begin with…how are they going to be able to send power to the grid?

After the cyclone here, we had no power for weeks. I could go and hand pump fuel for emergency services (in the fuel maintenance trade). Once some roads were opened I could get generators and power the fuel sites. It worked ok actually. If the grid goes down we might have to fly in generators since the roads were washed away, so back to using fossil fuel for the delivery and the generation so it’s not great for an EV an in an emergency.

v2g is just plain hilarious. If I tied a generator to my house in a power out and it was pumping juice into the grid I would be legally charged with creating a threat to the linesmen trying to fix the power system.
