Man charged after baby treated for serious injuries at Launceston General Hospital



A 21-year-old man has been charged with criminal code assault after a baby was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Tasmania Police said officers attended the Launceston General Hospital at about 1pm on Saturday where the baby was being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A St Leonards man has been charged with criminal code assault and bailed on strict conditions, police said.

He is expected to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
