Popular Sydney beach forced to shut over second shark sighting


Surf lifesavers sounded the alarm and ordered an evacuation over a shark off Manly Beach about 11.25 am.

The beach was shut, just over an hour after it had reopened following an earlier scare.

It was reopened about 12.40pm.

There were also shark sightings at Dee Why Beach, Palm Beach and Whale Beach today.

The beaches were all shut and then reopened late this morning. 

He had been jumping from some rocks when he was mauled by a suspected bull shark near Shark Beach in Vaucluse.
