Second man charged with murder of Mal Seve in Blacktown, NSW


A second man has been charged over the alleged shooting murder of father of two Mal Seve in Sydney’s west on Friday.

Seve, 28, was ambushed on Carinya St in Blacktown about 11.50am on Friday.

He was allegedly shot in front of several bystanders, suffering wounds to his neck, chest and leg.

Police were around the corner at the time and arrived at the scene swiftly.

NSW paramedics treated Seve but he could not be saved.

Two suspects allegedly fled the scene in a black Mazda ute and a police pursiuit was initiated.

The car crashed hundreds of metres away on Kildare Rd, with the two passengers continuing to flee on foot.

Both men, aged 18 and 25, were quickly arrested with the older man taken to hospital with minor injuries under police guard.

Upon his release on Sunday, he was taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he was charged with murder, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Monday.

The younger man was charged with similar offences on Saturday.

He was refused bail and appeared in court the same day.
