Jonathan Bailey has been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2025.
The English actor, 37, known for blockbuster films Wicked and Jurassic World Rebirth, is the first openly gay man to receive the title.
Bailey succeeds John Krasinski as the magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.

“I mean, it’s a huge honor. Obviously, I’m incredibly flattered. And it’s completely absurd,” Bailey told the magazine.
“I’m quite excited for some friends and family to find out.”
Bailey, who started as a child actor, hails from Oxfordshire.
He appeared in a number of productions on London’s West End, before going on to transition to blockbuster films.
Bailey gained worldwide fame after nabbing the role of Lord Anthony in Bridgerton.
On Wednesday, entertainment guru Cooper Lawrence spoke about the title.
“It’s so exciting. You know a lot of people just discovered him from Bridgerton,” Lawrence said.
“(But) he has been toiling away on television for a long time.
“He was in Broadchurch and others. It’s about time they noticed the beauty and amazingness that’s Jonathan Bailey.”
Lawrence went on to speak about him being openly gay.
“He’s the first openly gay man in 40 years of this magazine to be sexiest man alive,” Lawrence said.
“This is a big moment for representation in mainstream media.”
Lawrence explained he went up against Glenn Powell and Pedro Pascal for the title.
“You know people love Glen Powell after ‘Top Gun’ Maverick. He is having a moment. People thought it was going to be him.”
Pascal reportedly turned down the award.
Other Sexiest Men Alive had been named as Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, and David Beckham.
