Anthony Albanese said he spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu early this morning, expressing his “anger and concern” at the death of Australian aid worker Lalzawmi “Zomi” Frankcom in what her employers described as a “targeted” air strike by the IDF in Gaza.
He said Netanyahu accepted responsibility for the attack and had “conveyed his condolences to the family” of Frankcom. He also said the Israeli prime minister has “committed to full transparency” around the details of the attack.
Albanese said the death of Frankcom and her colleagues would add to growing global concern around the number of deaths of civilians and aid workers in Israeli strikes.
