One person killed as fire rips through home in Denhams Beach, NSW


A middle-aged man has died in a house fire on the NSW South Coast.

The home was found “well alight” when police and fire crews were called to Beach Rd in Denhams Beach, near Batemans Bay, about 5.20am on Thursday.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze but the home was destroyed.

The man’s body was found inside the house when emergency services searched the charred wreckage.

He has not yet been formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 50s.

Police and fire detectives are now investigating the cause of the blaze.
