Aussies across the country love to collect things, from toys to sports memorabilia, and sometimes at quite the cost.
Lisa Ridey collects Snoopy toys and memorabilia.
She says she has spent close to $500,000 on her collection of over 21,000 items.

“It’s priceless to me,” she said.
But such an enormous amount spent on a collection begs the question – why?
Psychologist Dr Sara Quinn says collecting is an important way for people to express themselves.
“When it comes to building a collection… It can really motivate and drive a person to build that collection over time,” Quinn said.
“It is an expression of who they are and what they love in life.”
