Sky News host Paul Murray has called out the Albanese government for its actions which have added to the “cost of everything” at supermarkets.
ACCC Chair Gina Cass-Gottlieb has revealed the consumer watchdog will seek significant penalties for Woolworths and Coles if it is successful in its legal action against supermarket giants.
She believes there needs to be a deterrent to stop not only supermarkets but other retailers from misleading consumers.
“This government has done things to add to the cost of everything in the supermarket,” Mr Murray said.

Glad your budget is in surplus Jim.The average Australians budget is way in the red thanks to your high energy prices and failure to control inflation. You do realise that Australia's standard of living has declined by nearly 10 % under your watch.Pretty embarrassing !!
Jim is blaming Putin but Putin is not blaming Jim for sanctions.

RBA has said openly that government expenditure has been driving inflation. Which part of that do Albanese and his army of slogan peddling robots not understand?
Increased costs from ALP industrial relations policies, from carbon reporting and gender reporting policies, from vastly increased electricity costs, from the usual ALP wage/price spiral.
But the ACCC has a case against the supermarkets for 'deceptive' claiming of discounted prices.
So Albo says 'It wasn't me, look over there, an ACCC squirrel.'
I say it again: 6 months trial for politicians-8f theis promises aren't met-out they go
