Mount Druitt home sprayed with up to 30 bullets in shock drive-by shooting as 11 people slept inside, manhunt underway

A Western Sydney home has been targeted in a shock drive-by shooting in the early hours of Friday morning, with a manhunt now underway.

A home on Frank St in Mount Druitt was sprayed with up to 30 shots about 1:20am after a black car pulled up to the house, police say.

Six children are believed to have among 1 1 people sleeping inside.

The incident is being treated as a targeted attack, after the house was previously shot up in 2021.

Police have established a crime scene, with investigations now underway and a manhunt sparked.

The gunman is reported to have fired 15 shots before firing another 15.

No one was injured in the incident.

Mount Druitt police superintendent Darrin Batchelor said the potential seriousness of the matter was “quite large”.

“We believe there was up to five adults and six children inside,” he told The Daily Telegraph.

The occupants of the home were known to police, but it is too soon to know whether it was gang-related activity.

“The occupant at the time is known to us, and we believe this is a targeted attack,” Supt Batchelor said.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
