Many schools serve as polling places on election day, with School Parents and Citizens’ Associations (P&CS) teaming up to support local community groups by serving up the iconic democracy sausage.
Polling booths with sausage sizzles in your suburb
You can find the best place to vote in your area by entering your suburb. The interactive tool lets you see which polling booths in your area have sausage sizzles, bacon and egg rolls, cakes or coffees on May 3.

Kooyong
The school council for Toorak Primary School, on Canterbury Road, is hosting a sausage sizzle and cake stall to raise funds for the school.
Voters can snap up a democracy sausage or a sweet treat before or after voting between 8am and 4pm.
Belle Vue Primary School in Balwyn North will cook up the iconic democracy sausage as well as some baked goods.
Grab your sausage on bread from 10am to 1pm.
Auburn Primary School is raising funds for its kitchen garden program, as well as for Cara Armstrong Kindergarten with a democracy sausage sizzle, egg and bacon rolls and a cake stall.
A fresh cup of coffee will also be ready to go for those in need.
Menzies
The Social and Fundraising Committee at Blackburn Primary School is raising money for a new school playground.
The sausage sizzle and cake stall will be open from 8am to 4pm.
The Parents & Friends Association at Birralee Primary School, in Doncaster, will have freshly cooked sausages ready to enjoy on the spot, plus a table full of homemade baked goods including brownies, cupcakes and slices.
Proceeds will go towards improvements for the school.
Parents at St Gregory the Great Primary School in Doncaster are running a stall to raise funds for their Performing Arts program.
A sausage sizzle, cake stall, popcorn, and cold drinks will be on offer from 8am to 4pm.
Macnamara
Middle Park Primary School’s fundraising committee is raising funds to build an inclusive playground with a sausage sizzle and cake stall from 8am until 2pm.
The St Mary’s Primary School and Parish Community is hosting a sausage sizzle, cake stall, savoury vegetarian options, and bacon and eggs at St Mary’s Parish Hall, in St Kilda East, from 8am and 4pm.
Voters can also enjoy a classic sausage on bread over at Port Melbourne Primary School.

Fowler
The P&C committee for Chipping Norton Public School is preparing a whopping 600 sausages with onions for their democracy sausage sizzle, as well as a cake stall.
The Bonnyrigg High School P&C in Bonnyrigg is running a stall to raise funds for student wellbeing programs.
A sausage sizzle with halal options, coffee and cold drinks will be available from 8am to 2pm.
The P&C committee for Mount Pritchard East Public School in Mount Pritchard will also be manning a democracy sausage sizzle stall.
Bennelong
The P&C at Putney Public School will be hosting a BBQ to raise funds for a Stage 1 reading program. Year six students will also run a cake and lolly stall to raise money for their end-of-year gift.
At Meadowbank Public School, in Ryde Heights, voters can enjoy a sausage sizzle and cake stall hosted by the P&C, with proceeds going towards various school projects.
Kent Road Public School in Eastwood will also host a sausage sizzle and cake stall to fuel your voting experience.
Wentworth
Rose Bay Public School will host a sausage sizzle and bake sale, run by the P&C from 8am to 3pm, to raise money for the school.
Double Bay Public School P&C is hosting a BBQ to raise funds for the school, with an opportunity to donate to a new playground space.
On offer is a sausage sizzle, cake stall, savoury vegetarian options, bacon and eggs, and vegan options. The stall be be open from 8am to 3pm.
Year six parents at Bellevue Hill Public School are fundraising for their students’ end-of-year graduation activities with a sausage sizzle, delicious cakes and sweet treats, as well as cold drinks.

The Fig Tree Pocket State School P&C will be holding a bake sale and sausage sizzle to raise funds for a new junior playground. Voters can pick up a sweet treat or democracy sausage from 8am to 2pm.
Kenmore South State School, on Kersley Road, will be offering a sausage sizzle and cake stall.
Parents at Rainworth State School will be running a sausage sizzle and cake stall where funds will go towards a year six graduation project and P&C initiatives. The stall will be open from 8am to 2pm.
Griffith
The Kangaroo Point Uniting Church will be raising funds for community outreach and general maintenance.
They will be offering democracy sausages, a cake stall and a plant stall. The store will be open from 8am to 4pm.
The St Paul’s Anglican Church Hall, in East Brisbane, will be offering various election day options from a sausage sizzle, cake stall, savoury vegetarian options, and craft stall.
The store is looking to raise funds for outreach work, including Christmas hampers. The stall will be open from 8am to 3 pm.
The St Francis Table Ministry to the Elderly will be delivering an array of options on election day at St Francis’ Church Hill, in West End.
A sausage sizzle, drinks, plants, cake stall, and Mother’s Day cards will be on offer from 8am to 3pm. All funds will support the local Ministry in helping the elderly in need within the community.
Dickson
The P&C at Albany Creek State School, in Albany North, will be selling sausages, chips, drinks, and the “WORLD’S BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!”
They will be raising funds for the school, with the goal being to install air conditioning in the hall. The store will run from 10am to 4pm.
Prince of Peace Lutheran College (Senior Campus) will be offering democracy sausages and a cake stall. The entrance to the stores and polling booths is through the main gate on Henderson Road, Everton Hills.
The Mount Nebo Hall will be offering a sausage sizzle, cake stall and bacon and eggs. The entrance will be located on View Street.
Perth/Western Australia
Perth
Volunteers on behalf of the Hillcrest Primary School P&C will be offering voters a sausage sizzle, cake stall, bacon and eggs, savoury vegetarian, and halal options from 8am to 3pm.
All funds raised will go towards school beautification projects and the year six graduation.
Inglewood Primary School P&C will be raising funds for equipment and special learning programs through a sausage sizzle, cake stall, coffee, savoury vegetarian options, bacon and egg rolls or sandwiches, and bacon and egg burgers with house-made relish and rocket. Cold drinks will also be available throughout the day.
Maylands Peninsula Primary School will be firing up the BBQ and offering a sausage sizzle and cake stall to support the school community.
Curtin
Freshwater Bay Primary School, Claremont P&C is hosting an Election Day Market to raise funds for school programs. On offer will be bacon and egg rolls, a sausage sizzle, cakes, preserves, coffee, a plant sale, and second-hand books and clothing.
Volunteers from the Doubleview Primary School P&C will be running a sausage sizzle, cake stall and coffee stand from 8am to 2pm. Funds raised will go toward essential computer licences for students.
The P&C at Wembley Primary School will be raising funds for school infrastructure improvements, including shade sails.

Creaney Primary School, Kingsley will be hosting a sausage sizzle and cake stall on election day, with all proceeds supporting the school community.

North Beach Primary School will be offering a sausage sizzle, bacon and eggs, and hot coffee for voters throughout the day – perfect for a tasty pit stop while supporting local students.
Hobart/Tasmania
Clark
The local Wellspring Anglican Church Hall, in Sandy Bay, will be offering cakes and sausages, raising money for children in Cambodia to go to school. The stall will be open from 9am to 2pm.
The Bowen Road Primary School Association will be offering democracy sausages, a cake stall, savoury vegetarian options, and halal options.
Every dollar will be put towards a local artist to paint a mural on the gym walls. The store will be open from 8am to 4pm.
The St George’s Anglican Church, in Battery Point, will be offering a sausage sizzle, savoury vegetarian options, a plant stall, a book stall, and bric-a-brac of miscellaneous objects and ornaments from 8am to 2pm.
All money raised will be put towards the ongoing maintenance of the church.
Franklin
Margate Primary School will be offering a various options from 8am to 2am. Voters can grab themselves a democracy sausage, egg and bacon rolls, chicken burgers with coleslaw, and cakes.
The school’s association at Illawarra Primary School will be hosting a sausage sizzle and bacon and eggs from 8am to 2pm to raise funds to support the school and students.
The South Arm Primary School will be offering voters a sausage sizzle and cake stall. The voting booths will be located within the school gym.
Lyons
Volunteers on behalf of the Sorell School Asociation will be offering voters a sausage sizzle, cake stall, bacon and eggs, and cans of cordial from 8am to 2pm.
All funds will be poured into the school to upgrade resources and equipment.
The Evandale Primary School’s “community champions” will be raising funds to upgrade the school library.
They will be offering an array of goodies from a sausage sizzle, cake stall, coffee, bacon and eggs, ham and cheese croissants, and cold drinks. The store will be open from 8am to 6pm.
The Richmond Primary School will be offering democracy sausages and a cake stall on election day. The entrance is in Torrens Street via the front gate outside the premises.
Canberra
Fenner
The Palmerston District Primary School P&C, Palmerston, will be running an election BBQ and bake sale to raise money for school improvements. The stall will be open from 8am to 3:30pm.
Several students at the UC SSC Lake Ginninderra College, in Belconnen, will be fundraising for activities, including the Global Classroom Conference in Spain, World Challenge Excursion to Cambodia and Basketball and Volleyball Nationals.
They will be offering a sausage sizzle, cake stall, savoury vegetarian options, coffee, bacon and eggs, gluten free options, and cold drinks from 8am to 5pm.
Macgregor Primary School P&C will be offering a sausage sizzle (with gluten free bread), cake stall, savoury vegetarian options, coffee, bacon and eggs, and an ice cream truck. The stall will be raising vital funds for the school and will be open from 8am to 3pm.
Canberra
The P&C at Turner School will be offering a sausage sizzle, cake stall, drinks, savoury vegetarian options, and halal options from 8am to 2pm. The school will put all funds towards upgrading the school’s play equipment.
Aranda Primary School will be offering a sausage sizzle, cake stall, coffee, and plant stall, homemade foods, and handmade items.
The P&C at Yarralumla Primary School will be offering democracy sausages, a cake stall, savoury vegetarian options, bacon and eggs, and cold drinks from 8am to 4pm.
The store will be fundraising to cover the additional expenses of being a bilingual public school.

Monash Primary School will be hosting a BBQ serving democracy sausages and cupcakes. Entrance to the stall and voting booths is via the school car park.
The P&C at Duffy Primary School will be looking to raise money for school playgrounds. The store will be offering a sausage sizzle, cake stall, savoury vegetarian options, and bacon and eggs.
Farrer Primary School, in Farrer, will be offering a sausage sizzle, cake stall, bacon and eggs, and plant stall and book stall. The entrance to the school is located on the corner of Lambrigg Street and Dookie Street.
Darwin
Solomon
The Nakara Primary School Council is fundraising for years four, five, and six camps.
