The bud of a Titan Arum plant, known as a “corpse flower”, is predicted to potentially bloom at Collectors Corner Garden World in the suburb of Braeside tonight.
The bud is expected to partially close tomorrow morning and be 90 per cent closed by the end of the day.
“We will monitor Tiny closely today as we expect this is the day,” staff said on social media.
The spectacle has become appointment viewing for fans of the flower with a livestream documenting its every slight move.
Previous visitors to the garden centre have compared the smell to “an open garbage full of rotting fish” and “dead possum”.
“You have to experience it to actually create your own thought of what it really smells like,” Collectors Corner Garden World owner Jeno Kapitany previously told 9News.
Another Titan Arum flower bloomed at the Braeside garden centre back in 2016.
