Humanitarian aid on the way as Vietnam grapples with aftermath of Typhoon Yagi

Australia is set to provide $3 million of humanitarian relief for Vietnam as the country grapples with the aftermath of its strongest typhoon in decades.

Authorities say at least 197 people have now been killed with destructive floods also spilling into Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.

Thousands of residents in Hanoi have been evacuated from their homes, as authorities say water levels in the Red River near the capital is at its highest in 20 years.
